Clearly, the rest of the world did not get the memo about the recession. In Abu Dhabi's top hotel, the Emirates Palace, you can find a machine, similar to that of a redbox, but instead of movie rentals this thing dishes out GOLD!! Let me repeat this, an ATM FOR GOLD!
Thomas Giessler, the German Entrepenuer behind the Gold To Go Machine, said he chose this location because of the "High Roller Atmosphere". When I am a high roller, I will not be buy gold out of a redbox. Thanks, but no thanks.
The kinda neat thing about this though, is the ability the gold coins that you buy from it! If I can't put MY face on it, what really is the point?
The machine also dishes out gold bars up to 10 grams in weight! Hmm, yeah, I'll pass.
